Life Time Tri Minneapolis truly lets you "Race the Lakes" and more! The race starts with a swim in the calm, warm waters of Lake Nokomis. Next, racers bike the beautiful roads overlooking the Mississippi River and surrounding Lake Harriet. The event finishes with a run around Nokomis and a finish line that lets right into our amazing post-race festival.
Relay transition area
A designated relay area will be available at the northwest end of the transition area. Relay teams will use this area for both transitions. Swimmers will meet their biker in the pen. Biker will run to their designated bike rack and exit. Upon return, biker will rack their bike and meet their runner in the relay pen. Runner will exit to complete the race.

Each member of the relay team must pick up their own packets. Team members will need to show ID and USAT membership card. The whole team does not need to come and pick up their packets together.
Swimmers will receive timing chip, bikers will receive bike and helmet number and runners will receive race bib. Each member of the relay will receive a wristband. Biker will be the only one that has the race bib number on it.

The Toyota Triple Crown Series is a new dimension in triathlon that brings additional drama and excitement to three existing Life Time Tri events: Life Time Tri Minneapolis, New York City Triathlon and Life Time Tri Oceanside. The newly created Series awards $50,000 to the top professional female or male triathlete who compete in all three Toyota Triple Crown events. The Toyota Triple Crown winner is declared at Life Time Tri Oceanside using an ‘equalizer’ time handicap format judged by Life Time.

Held at the Life Time Tri Minneapolis on July 12, 2014, this is a chance to compete with your Life Time Tri TEAM against other Chapters of Tri TEAM, from locations throughout the country! Join your fellow teammates for a friendly and fun competition to establish bragging rights at both the Sprint and Olympic Distance races, and to discover who has the BEST Tri Team in the Nation.
Life Time Tri TEAM members who compete will enjoy an incredible weekend of fun, laughs and multisport competition. A pre-race Tri Clinic and Social will offer a great opportunity to meet Life Time Coaches and Teammates. Race day promises spirited racing against the clock, and against others as the top three (3) athletes from each Chapter scores points in either Sprint or Olympic tris, tallied to determine the top 3 Tri Team programs in the country, with the winning Team receiving the coveted Life Time Tri TEAM Cup for the year. Then, celebrate after the race with a social get-together where you'll share race war stories, mingle with other Tri TEAM athletes and discuss training strategies for next year's National Championships!

Life Time Tri Minneapolis will be hosting the North American Junior Triathlon Invitational, an exciting race-within-the-race for juniors 13-17 years of age. This race takes place on the Life Time Tri Minneapolis sprint course, and participants will be placed in the last sprint wave.
Divisions and awards
This unique junior/youth format will present individual awards for the following age groups: 13-14, 15-16 and 17. Awards will be presented to the top three places for both male and females. A team award will be presented for the top-scoring team across all categories. All participants receive a T-shirt, goodie bag, swim cap, bib number, finisher medal, post-race food and more.
While this event is open to all athletes, there is a minimum standard that must be met to ensure the safety of all participants. Junior athletes must 1) have previously competed in a minimum of one triathlon or competed for a minimum of two years within an organized swim team/club and 2) be able to swim a minimum of .25 miles unassisted in open water.
If your young athlete does not meet these requirements, he or she may still have the opportunity to take part in the great sport of triathlon. Consider registering your 7- to 12-year-old in the Life Time Kids Tri, held at Life Time Fitness Plymouth the Sunday of race weekend! Click here for details.

PC Open Division is available to athletes with a medically verified physical, visual or neurological impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

Parking is available on residential streets surrounding the course. Parking is not permitted on the bike portion of the course or at the race site. Please find parking in the residential areas around the race site and be courteous of private residences.
